THE NICE BRIDGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

SELECTED ALTERNATE ANNOUNCED!

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) has completed project planning studies for the Nice Bridge Improvement Project, which identified alternate solutions to transportation issues at the Governor Harry W. Nice Memorial/Senator Thomas “Mac” Middleton Bridge, evaluated environmental and community impacts of the alternates, and gathered public and permitting agency input on the project. Most recently, the study team coordinated with regulatory agencies to develop the project's final environmental document, which was approved by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) on November 27, 2012.

Bridge Map

The Nice Bridge Study Area limits encompassed approximately ten miles along US 301, from north of the US 301/MD 234 intersection in Charles County, Maryland to just west of Route 206 in King George County, Virginia.
