Stage One

April 2018

Construction on the I-895 Bridge Project began with lane widths reduced to 11 feet and work taking place on the shoulders and under the I-895 Bridge.

Stage Two

November 27, 2018

Northbound I-895 will close 24/7 and two-way traffic will operate on Southbound I-895. The Holabird Ave. exit ramp will close 24/7.

 

Spring 2019

Northbound I-895 tunnel bore will close 24/7 for 60 days. Two-way traffic will operate in the Southbound bore.

Stage Three

Spring 2020

Southbound I-895 will close 24/7 and two-way traffic will operate on Northbound I-895. The Holabird Ave. ramp will reopen.

 

Spring 2020

Southbound I-895 tunnel bore will close 24/7 for 60 days. Two-way traffic will operate in the Northbound bore.

Stage Four

Summer 2021

Work on shoulders and final paving. Both Northbound and Southbound I-895 will maintain two lanes in each direction. The project is scheduled for completion in 2021.
