NEW DRIVEEzMD E-ZPASS MARYLAND CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER NOW OPEN AT ESSEX MDOT MVA

Existing Customer Service Centers Expanded at Bay Bridge, Fort McHenry Tunnel & JFK Highway

BALTIMORE, MD (April 26, 2022) The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) and the Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) have added a seventh DriveEzMD E-ZPass Maryland Customer Service Center (CSC) in an MDOT MVA Branch to serve tolling customers. The new center is at the MDOT MVA Essex branch, 1338A Eastern Blvd.

At the Essex location and at all CSCs, customers can perform numerous tolling transactions including signing up for E-ZPass or Pay-By-Plate, adding funds to their account, paying Video Tolls, picking up transponders and mounting strips, and resolving any questions face-to-face with a CSC representative.

“While we continue to update and improve our customer service options with DriveEzMD, we know that in-person service is one of our most valuable assets,” said MDTA Executive Director William Pines. “Opening another location within the Essex MVA Branch expands the opportunity for customers to have positive and efficient experiences while taking care of their tolling needs.”

Along with the new service center in Essex, the MDTA and MDOT MVA welcome tolling customers to the Annapolis, Waldorf, Bel Air, Beltsville, Gaithersburg and Glen Burnie MVA branches. Customers are reminded that service centers at MDOT MVA branches require an appointment, which can be made by calling 410-537-8400 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturdays.

“With the demonstrated success of Customer Service Center locations within other MVA Branches, it was an easy collaboration with MDTA to add another to our Essex location,” said MDOT MVA Administrator Christine Nizer. “This is just one more way we can provide excellent service to our customers.”

MDTA facilities also feature Customer Service Centers. The Bay Bridge, Fort McHenry Tunnel and John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway locations have recently expanded to accommodate more customers with the addition of new customer service stations within their existing spaces.

All MDTA Customer Service Center locations and their hours of operation can be found at

DriveEzMD.com/contact-us. MDTA also has a 24/7, toll-free automated response line that can be reached by calling 1-888-321-6824 (711 for MD Relay).

E-ZPass remains the most cost-effective way to travel toll roads in Maryland, saving drivers up to 77% versus the higher rates and additional paperwork that come with Video Tolls. Enroll in E-ZPass or sign up for Pay-By-Plate today at DriveEzMD.com, or by visiting one of DriveEzMD’s E-ZPass Customer Service Centers.
