TEMPORARY & CONTINUOUS LANE CLOSURES BEGIN ON I-695 AT CURTIS CREEK DRAWBRIDGE

Ramp from Northbound MD 10 to Outer Loop I-695 Temporarily Closed

 

WHAT: The Outer Loop I-695 will be closed temporarily to traffic between MD 10 (Exit 2) and Quarantine Rd. (Exit 1). The detour route will direct motorists to southbound MD 10, to Ordnance Road, to Pennington Avenue, to Hawkins Point Road, to Fort Armistead Road, to Outer Loop I-695.

The ramp from northbound MD 10 to Outer Loop I-695 will be closed temporarily to traffic. The detour route will direct motorists to Ordnance Road, to Pennington Avenue, to Hawkins Point Road, to Fort Armistead Road, to Outer Loop I-695.

The Outer Loop I-695 will be reduced to one lane 24/7 between MD 10 (Exit 2) and Quarantine Road (Exit 1).

The Inner Loop I-695 will be closed between Exit 1 (Quarantine Rd) and Exit 2 (MD 10) 24/7. Two-way traffic will operate on the Outer Loop I-695 (one lane open in each direction).

Use I-95/Fort McHenry Tunnel and I-895/Baltimore Harbor Tunnel as alternative routes.

 

WHEN: Weather permitting, the Outer Loop I-695 and the ramp from northbound MD 10 to Outer Loop I-695 will be closed Monday, Jan. 8, through Sunday, Jan. 14, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

Weather permitting, the Outer Loop I-695 will be reduced to one lane 24/7 from Tuesday, Jan. 9 through November 2018.

Weather permitting, the Inner Loop I-695 will be closed 24/7 from Monday, Jan. 15 through June 2018. Two-way traffic will operate on the Outer Loop I-695.

 

WHY: Your Toll Dollars At Work. The closures are part of the Maryland Transportation Authority's (MDTA) $20 million project to rehabilitate the structural, mechanical and electrical components of the Curtis Creek Drawbridge.
