Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns
Scheduled for the Week of May 10 – 16
All work will be performed weather permitting. The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals. Headlights are required at all times on the bridge. Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes.
TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK
Two lanes of the westbound span may be closed Monday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work.
The westbound span may be closed Tuesday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning and Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work. Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.
Starting the week of May 11th, overnight/off-peak work on the westbound span will include deck/joint repairs and replacements that will result in periods of steel plates placed in the center and left lanes.
One lane of the eastbound span may be closed Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work.
Note: Full-time all-electronic (cashless) tolling with three highway speed lanes goes into effect May 12. Motorists should obey all signs and speed limits, as the toll plaza is an active work zone.
