MDTA NAMES KEVIN REIGRUT
AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
BALTIMORE, MD - The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Board has named Kevin C. Reigrut to lead the 1,700-employee agency that oversees the State's eight toll facilities and the E-ZPass Maryland system effective Jan. 3, 2017, following the retirement of current Executive Director Milt Chaffee. Mr. Reigrut has served as Assistant Secretary of Operations for the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) since 2014.
"Kevin is a results-driven leader who brings more than 20 years of experience in public policy, project management and legislative affairs to this role," said MDTA Chairman and Maryland Transportation Secretary Pete K. Rahn. "I have very high expectations of Kevin to deliver bold results at the MDTA."
Before being named Assistant Secretary of Operations for MDOT, Mr. Reigrut served as Chief of Staff for U.S. Representative Andy Harris and as Homeland Security Planning and Policy Development Manager for former Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. He also served as an Associate for Booz/Allen/Hamilton, Inc., and in various roles in the Maryland General Assembly.
As MDTA Executive Director, Mr. Reigrut will manage the agency's daily operations, including the nationally accredited MDTA Police; a $300 million annual operating budget; and a $2.4 billion six-year capital program. He also will work with MDTA Board Members to establish policy and direction for the agency.

A resident of Pasadena, Mr. Reigrut graduated from the Maxwell School of Public Citizenship at Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. He is also a Board Member of the Tipton Airport Authority, a general aviation facility in Ft. Meade, Md.
