MDTA HONORED WITH AWARDS FOR SYSTEM PRESERVATION PROJECTS
BALTIMORE, MD – The Maryland Transportation Authority’s (MDTA) Office of Engineering and Construction was honored with several awards at the Maryland Quality Initiative conference last month.
The MDTA and its partners received the following awards for the deck rehabilitation of the bridges on I-95 south of the Fort McHenry Tunnel project:
- Overall “Project of the Year” Award, Over $5 Million
- Partnering Gold Award
- Outstanding Minority Business Enterprise – Award of Excellence – Sunrise Safety
- Outstanding Sub-Contractor – Award of Excellence – Sunrise Safety
The MDTA also received the Modal Award of Excellence (Construction & Design), Under $5 Million, for structural repairs on the I-95 bridges north of the Fort McHenry Tunnel.
Lastly, the National Asphalt Paving Association presented the MDTA with a Quality in Construction Award for its 12.5 mile I-95 resurfacing project.
