FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Aug. 20, 2015

WORK TO RESULT IN CLOSURE OF RAMP FROM NORTHBOUND I-95 TO RUSSELL STREET THIS WEEKEND

WHAT: The ramp from northbound I-95 to Russell Street (Exit 52) will be closed temporarily to traffic.

The detour route will direct motorists to I-395 (Exit 53), to Lee Street, to Russell Street.

WHEN: Weather permitting, Friday, Aug. 21, from 8 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22. In the event of inclement weather or other variables, work also may be performed Saturday, Aug. 22, from 9 p.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23.

WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The ramp closure is part of the Maryland Transportation Authority's (MDTA) two-year, $64 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete deck (riding) surface and roadway joints on mainline I-95 and ramps in Baltimore City.

REMINDERS:

· Southbound I-95 traffic lanes will shift with all four lanes to the left of the work area between the Hanover Street on-ramp and Exit 53 (I-395) by Saturday, Aug. 22.

· The on-ramp from Hanover Street to southbound I-95 remains closed 24/7 until late September.

· The work-zone speed limit is 50 mph on northbound and southbound I-95.
