WORK TO RESULT IN WEEKEND-LONG EASTBOUND SINGLE-LANE CLOSURE ON HATEM BRIDGE (US 40)

WHAT:           The eastbound right lane of the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge (US 40) will be closed temporarily to traffic.

WHEN:           Weather permitting, from Friday, July 16, at 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, July 19. In the event of inclement weather or other variables, work also may be performed Friday, July 23, at 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, July 26.

WHY:              Toll Dollars at Work. The closures are part of the Maryland Transportation Authority’s (MDTA) project to reconstruct the existing pavement from the E Street Bridge approach to MD 222. Crews will be performing full depth roadway repairs, including work on the curb and sidewalk tying into the bridge.
