WORK TO RESULT IN WEEKEND CLOSURES OF

I-95 KEITH AVENUE RAMPS IN AUGUST

 

WHAT:            The ramps from Keith Avenue to I-95 will be closed temporarily to traffic.  The westbound detour will direct motorists to Keith Avenue, to Clinton Street, to Boston Street, to Interstate Avenue, to I-95.  The eastbound detour will direct motorists to New Vail Street, to Newkirk Street, to Boston Street, to Interstate Avenue, to I-95.

            The ramp from northbound I-95 to Keith Avenue (Exit 56) will be closed temporarily to traffic.  The detour will direct motorists to Boston/O’Donnell Street (Exit 57), to Interstate Avenue, to southbound I-95, to Keith Avenue (Exit 56).

WHEN:          Weather permitting, the ramps from Keith Avenue to I-95 will be closed Friday, July 31, at 8 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2Weather permitting, the ramp from northbound I-95 to Keith Avenue will be closed Friday, Aug. 7, at 8 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9.  Work also may be performed Friday, Aug. 14, through Sunday Aug. 16.  

WHY:             Toll Dollars at Work: The closures are part of the Maryland Transportation Authority’s (MDTA) three-year, $189 million project to replace the 60-year-old I-895 Bridge and the Holabird Avenue exit ramp north of the Harbor Tunnel and rehabilitate the Harbor Tunnel.  The project began in April 2018 and is expected to be completed in summer 2021.  For details visit 895bmore.com.  Follow #895bmore on Twitter.
