WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT CLOSURES OF SOUTHBOUND I-895 AT MORAVIA ROAD
Traffic detoured via southbound I-95
WHAT: Southbound I-895 at Moravia Road in Baltimore will be closed temporarily to traffic. The detour will direct motorists to Moravia Road (Exit 14), to southbound I-95.
WHEN: Weather permitting, Monday, March 18; and Monday, March 25, through Wednesday, March 27, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The closure is part of the Maryland Transportation Authority’s (MDTA) $58 million Tunnel Ventilation Fan Replacement Project to replace all vent fans, damper motors, electrical feeds, lightning protections and roofs in the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel ventilation buildings. The project began in December 2016 and is expected to be complete in fall 2023 after a two-year warranty period.
