TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF SOUTHBOUND I-895 NEAR I-97/MD 2 SPUR ROAD TONIGHT
Unscheduled Joint Replacement in Patapsco Flats Work Zone
WHAT: Southbound I-895 will be closed temporarily between Exit 6 (I-97and MD 2 spur road) and Exit 4 (MD 295).
All traffic will be detoured to the spur road, to southbound I-97, to MD 648, to northbound I-97, to I-695 west. A second detour route also will be available from southbound I-97, to westbound MD 100, to southbound I-95.
Currently, only one lane is operating on southbound I-895 in this area due to the Patapsco Flats project.
WHEN: Weather permitting, Thursday, April 20, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
WHY: Crews will perform an unscheduled joint replacement on the bridge carrying I-895 over the Light Rail tracks. The bridge is located just south of the Patapsco Flats bridges but still within the project work zone.
