NEW SPLIT TRAFFIC PATTERN ON SOUTHBOUND I-95

IN BALTIMORE THIS WEEKEND

Use Right Lane For I-395 Exit

Key Highway On-Ramp To Reopen; Hanover Street On-Ramp Closed 24/7

#i95bmore

WHAT: Southbound I-95 traffic lanes will split with three lanes to the left and one lane to the right from Exit 55 (Key Highway) to Exit 52 (MD 295). To use Exit 53 (I-395), you MUST use the right lane prior to the split. For Exit 52, use the two right lanes prior to the split. The on-ramp from Key Highway to southbound I-95 will reopen; however motorists entering southbound I-95 will remain in the right lane until after Exit 52. The on-ramp from Hanover Street to southbound I-95 will be closed 24/7 until late September. The detour route will direct motorists from Hanover Street to East McComas Street, to a u-turn onto West McComas Street, to southbound I-95.

                                3LEFT-!

Southbound I-95

WHEN: Weather permitting, the southbound I-95 split will be in effect by Sunday, July 26, for approximately two to three weeks.

Weather permitting, the Hanover Street on-ramp closure will be in effect by Sunday, July 26, until late September. The Key Highway on-ramp will reopen by Sunday, July 26.

WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The split traffic pattern and on-ramp closure are part of the Maryland Transportation Authority's (MDTA) two-year, $64 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete deck (riding) surface and roadway joints on mainline I-95 and ramps in Baltimore City.

REMINDERS:

• Southbound I-95 traffic lanes split with three lanes to the left and one lane to the right from I-395 to Exit 50 (Caton Avenue). For Exit 50, motorists MUST be in the right lane prior to the split.

• The on-ramp from Washington Boulevard to southbound I-95 is closed 24/7. Follow detours.

• Use I-695 or I-895 if traveling thru Baltimore City.

• Work-zone speed limits on northbound and southbound I-95 are reduced to 50 mph. Work-zone safety speed cameras in use.
