NEW PURPLE PAVEMENT MARKINGS & E-ZPASS LOGOS ADDED TO FORT MCHENRY TUNNEL TOLL LANES

WHAT:          Motorists may notice new purple pavement markings and E-ZPass symbols in the toll lanes approaching both directions of the Fort McHenry Tunnel (I-95) toll plaza.

New purple lines indicating E-ZPass Only lanes (no cash) will be placed next to the white and yellow lines in advance of the toll plaza.  Additionally, purple E-ZPass logos will be placed in the E-ZPass lanes approaching the toll plazas.

WHEN:          Motorists will see the new purple markings and E-ZPass logos during the morning commute of Monday, May 7, 2018.  Installation will last for approximately three weeks.

WHY:             The new pavement markings and logos help guide motorists to the E-ZPass Only lanes, minimize confusion and assist decision-making as they approach the toll plazas. This is part of the MDTA’s initiative to provide safe and efficient traffic flow through its facilities.
