I-895/BALTIMORE HARBOR TUNNEL SOUTHBOUND BORE CLOSED NEXT TWO WEEKENDS
Two-Way Traffic Will Operate In Northbound Bore
WHAT: The southbound bore of the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel (I-895) will continuously close over the next two weekends. Two-way traffic (one lane in each direction) will operate in the northbound bore. Motorists should use I-695/Key Bridge or I-95/Fort McHenry Tunnel as alternate routes.
WHEN: Weather permitting, the southbound bore will be closed from Friday, Feb. 15, at 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, and Friday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25.
WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The closures are part of the Maryland Transportation Authority’s (MDTA) three-year, $189 million I-895 Bridge Project to replace the 60-year-old bridge and Holabird Avenue exit ramp north of the Harbor Tunnel and to rehabilitate the Harbor Tunnel. The project began in April 2018 and is expected to be completed in summer 2021. For details visit 895bmore.com.
