Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns

Scheduled for the week of January 25 – 31, 2026

All work will be performed weather permitting. The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals. Headlights are required at all times on the bridge. Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes and other work variables. 

TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK 

The westbound span may be closed Sunday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work. Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closure.

The eastbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Friday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work. One lane of the westbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work.

Tolling Reminder:  All-electronic tolling is statewide in Maryland. Standard Video Toll rates apply for any trips not paid with a valid E-ZPass or Pay-By-Plate account at toll facilities. Enroll in E-ZPass or Pay-By-Plate at DriveEzMD.com.

While you're attending the hearing and reviewing the Draft Environmental Impact Statement and MDTA’s Recommended Preferred Alternative (Alternative C), we’ll be available to answer questions and provide helpful information about traveling Maryland roadways.
