REMINDER: PUBLIC HEARINGS SET FOR TOLL MODERNIZATION WITH POTENTIAL FOR $28 MILLION IN SAVINGS OVER FIVE YEARS

Public Comment Period Began August 1 and continues through October 3

                                                                    

BALTIMORE, MD – With a toll modernization system coming online next year, the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is holding public hearings and seeking public comment on a package of tolling options that would provide cost savings for customers. Last month, the MDTA Board voted to advance the proposals to public comment and hearing stage after the Hogan Administration outlined how this toll relief package could save Marylanders more than $28 million over five years.  

 

The MDTA has scheduled the following public hearings, to be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each date. An open house at each event will begin at 6 p.m., with testimony received from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The same information will be presented at each location. Those offering testimony will be allowed three minutes per person. Locations will be accessible to individuals with disabilities. Sign-language interpreters, non-English language interpreters, real-time captioning and assisted listening devices can be provided upon request.  

 

Visit mdta.maryland.gov/TollModernization/Home for more information about the tolling proposal or to submit comments online. You can also download a comment card that can be submitted by mail. The public comment period will close at 5 p.m. October 3.
