Spring 2022 Bay Bridge Osprey Update

Submitted by Tamory Winfield on

With the ongoing work at the Bay Bridge that includes new replacement signing and lighting structures, the osprey nest platform was removed in early April for the safety of the workers and ospreys. It is important to note that the platform was removed in compliance with wildlife policies, as there were not eggs nor nestlings present, or even ospreys at the time of removal. At this time, there are plans to replace the osprey platform before the end of the year after the new signing and lighting structures have been erected.

In the interim, you may catch our feathered bridge commuters on our Bay Bridge traffic cameras from time to time.
