NO TWO-WAY TRAFFIC AT BAY BRIDGE

THIS AFTERNOON

AS CREWS PREPARE FOR SNOWSTORM

Expect Eastbound Delays If You MUST Travel

BALTIMORE, Md. - Making final preparations for the significant storm bearing down on Maryland, the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is unable to implement two-way traffic operations today at the Bay Bridge (US 50/301).

"We had to remove all of our maintenance-of-traffic equipment used in two-way operations from the road in preparation for plowing and strong winds," said MDTA Executive Director Milt Chaffee. "We're ready, and we urge Marylanders to be prepared, to stay home and to be safe."

Every effort will be made to keep all toll bridges, tunnels and highways open as long as conditions are deemed safe to do so. This storm is not just a snow event, but a wind event for Maryland's large toll bridges. Bridge Wind Warnings and/or Wind Restrictions are likely throughout the storm.

In Baltimore, the MDTA expects to close the I-95 Express Toll Lanes at 6 p.m. tonight throughout the storm's duration so crews can focus on clearing the adjacent lanes of mainline I-95.

If you MUST travel, MDTA Police and Vehicle Recovery patrols are prepared to assist drivers of disabled vehicles. If your vehicle becomes disabled, remain inside and call #77 for assistance.

Follow @TheMDTA on Twitter for the latest conditions at Maryland toll facilities. Call 1-877-BAYSPAN (229-7726) for 24/7 updates on the Bay Bridge. To view real-time traffic cameras on MDTA roadways, visit mdta.maryland.gov or baybridge.com. Access statewide travel information at MD511.org or by calling 511.

Follow the Maryland Emergency Management Administration at twitter/MDMEMAor go to mema.maryland.gov for the latest storm track & preparedness information.

The MDTA thanks motorists for their patience.
