NEW LINE STRIPING ON EASTBOUND US 50 AFTER BAY BRIDGE TOLL PLAZA
WHAT: The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) will add line striping to a portion of eastbound US 50 between the toll plaza and the Bay Bridge. The new line striping will guide drivers from the individual lanes in the toll plaza to the eastbound lanes across the bridge.
WHEN: Weather permitting, the new line striping will be installed Tuesday, May 19, and Wednesday, May 20, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. Work originally scheduled for May 18 has been rescheduled for this date due to weather.
WHY: The new line striping is part of the MDTM's commitment to safety at the Bay Bridge. The striping will allow for more orderly movement and efficient traffic flow coming out of the toll plaza, essentially continuing the striping before the toll plaza (installed in 2012) to the other side.
