BAY BRIDGE TOLL LANE 2 CLOSED FOR ONE WEEK

Concrete Repairs Complete; Toll Booth Replacement Nears Completion

WHAT: Toll lanes 1 and 3 and the associated toll booths on the left side of the Bay Bridge toll plaza (eastbound US 50) will reopen and toll lane 2 will remain continuously (24/7) closed for an additional week. Motorists should use the remaining open toll lanes and booths to the left and right of toll lane 2. Trucks should continue using the three far right toll lanes. Pay attention to overhead and portable electronic signs.

During daytime lane closures on the eastbound span, toll lanes 1 and 3-5 will be directed onto the westbound bridge in contra-flow traffic. Toll lanes 6 -11 will be directed onto the eastbound span in the open eastbound lane.

During peak hours, toll lanes 1 and 3 will be directed onto the westbound bridge in contra-flow traffic and toll lanes 4-11 will be directed onto the eastbound span. Note that toll lane 4 is an E-ZPass® Only lane.

WHEN: Weather permitting, toll lane 2 will remain closed Tuesday, March 24, at 9 p.m. for approximately one week. Toll lanes 1 and 3 will reopen by 5 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25.

WHY: Toll Dollars At Work. The toll booth lane closures are part of two Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) projects. One is the $4.5 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete pavement on the approach to the Bay Bridge toll plaza along eastbound US 50. The second is the $4.8 million project to replace the toll booths at the Bay Bridge toll plaza.

REMINDER: Headlights are required at all times on the bridge.
