Subject Held without Bond
BALTIMORE, Md. (January 16, 2023) – Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police Officers arrested a Montgomery County man early Saturday morning during a traffic stop at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. On January 13, shortly after 2 a.m., an MDTA Police Officer assigned to the BWI Airport Detachment stopped a silver Dodge Ram on the inner roadway of the airport’s upper level. The inner roadway is a high pedestrian area, and traffic is limited to authorized vehicles only.
During the stop, officers identified the driver as 27-year-old Wilfredo Pineda of Silver Spring. Officers learned that Pineda was wanted on an open warrant through the Baltimore County Police Department for charges including second-degree rape and assault. Officers took Pineda into custody and transported him to the Jennifer Road Detention Center without incident.
Those charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
