MDTA POLICE ARREST FUGITIVE WANTED ON 12 WARRANTS

Charges Include Attempted Carjacking, Theft and Traffic Offenses

BALTIMORE, Md. (January 5, 2023) – Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police Officers arrested an Anne Arundel County man during a traffic stop in Baltimore City Wednesday evening. Shortly before 6 p.m. on January 3, an MDTA Police Officer assigned to the Central Command Detachment stopped a red Ford Windstar on southbound I-95 near Caton Avenue (Exit 50) for a registration violation.

During the stop, the officer attempted to identify the vehicle’s passenger after observing the passenger not restrained by a seatbelt. Even though the passenger provided a false name and different dates of birth, officers successfully identified the passenger as 27-year-old David H. Taylor of Pasadena. Officers learned that Taylor was wanted on 12 open warrants for offenses committed in Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Carroll counties. Officers took Taylor into custody and transported Taylor to the Baltimore Central Booking & Intake Center without incident. Taylor faces additional criminal charges related to attempted fraudulent identification.

Those charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Maryland Transportation Authority Police, a nationally accredited force, is the eighth-largest law enforcement agency in the State with more than 500 sworn and civilian law enforcement professionals. MDTA Police Officers provide law enforcement services at the MDTA’s highways, bridges, and tunnels, at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, and at the Port of Baltimore.
