MDTA POLICE ANNOUNCE ARREST FOLLOWING
ASSAULT WITH FIREARM ON I-895 IN BALTIMORE
Subject Faces Weapons and Assault Charges
BALTIMORE, Md. (July 30, 2024) – Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police Officers arrested an Anne Arundel County man this morning following an assault with a firearm that occurred in June on I-895 in Baltimore City.
During the investigation, MDTA Police Officers assigned to the Central Command Detachment and the Criminal Investigations Unit learned that the driver of a red Ford SUV pointed a handgun at another driver on southbound I-895 near Potee Street (Exit 7) at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18.
Investigators identified 33-year-old Caleb J. Catoe of Crownsville as a suspect. After a thorough investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant charging Catoe with first degree assault, reckless endangerment and other charges. Officers arrested Catoe on the warrant this morning, and Catoe was transported to the Jennifer Road Detention Center without incident.
Those charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
