WORK TO RESULT IN CLOSURES OF RAMP FROM SOUTHBOUND RUSSELL STREET TO SOUTHBOUND I-95 NEXT TWO WEEKENDS
WHAT: Weather permitting, the ramp from southbound Russell Street to southbound I-95 will be closed temporarily to traffic.
The detour route will direct motorists to the first ramp toward Westport, to Annapolis Road, to Monroe Street, to Washington Boulevard, to southbound I-95.
WHEN: Closures will occur Fridays from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Mondays, starting Friday, March 6, and continuing the following weekend through Monday, March 16. All dates and times are approximate and dependent on weather or events. Closure also scheduled for Thursday, March 5, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning.
WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The ramp closures are part of the Maryland Transportation Authoritys (MDTA) two-year, $66 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete deck (riding) surface and roadway joints on mainline I-95 and the ramps serving I-95 in Baltimore City.
