The Maryland Department of Information Technology (“DoIT”) offers translations of the content through Google Translate. Because Google Translate is an external website, DoIT does not control the quality or accuracy of translated content. All DoIT content is filtered through Google Translate which may result in unexpected and unpredictable degradation of portions of text, images and the general appearance on translated pages. Google Translate may maintain unique privacy and use policies. These policies are not controlled by DoIT and are not associated with DoIT’s privacy and use policies. After selecting a translation option, users will be notified that they are leaving DoIT’s website. Users should consult the original English content on DoIT’s website if there are any questions about the translated content.

DoIT uses Google Translate to provide language translations of its content. Google Translate is a free, automated service that relies on data and technology to provide its translations. MDTA POLICE ARREST ATTEMPTED MURDER SUSPECT AT BWI AIRPORT

Suspect Wanted by West Virginia State Police

BALTIMORE, Md. (February 12, 2024) – Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police Officers arrested a Hagerstown man wanted on attempted murder charges at Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport yesterday morning.

On February 11, at 10 a.m., MDTA Police Officers assigned to the BWI Airport Detachment received information that an attempted murder suspect may be traveling to the airport. Officers began to investigate and identified a suspect vehicle.

Shortly after 11:30 a.m., officers located the suspect vehicle on the airport’s lower level roadway and identified the driver as 34-year-old Zachary A. Butler. Officers confirmed that Butler was wanted on an open warrant through the West Virginia State Police for charges including attempted murder, burglary and domestic assault. Officers took Butler into custody and transported him to the Jennifer Road Detention Center without incident.

Those charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Maryland Transportation Authority Police, a nationally accredited force, is the eighth-largest law enforcement agency in the State with more than 500 sworn and civilian law enforcement professionals. MDTA Police Officers provide law enforcement services at the MDTA’s highways, bridges, and tunnels, at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, and at the Port of Baltimore.
