MDTA POLICE INVESTIGATING SUSPECTED SHOOTING ON I-895

Witnesses Asked to Call 443-915-7757

BALTIMORE, Md. (July 2, 2022) – Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police Officers are investigating a suspected shooting that occurred Friday afternoon in Baltimore City.

At 3:33 p.m., MDTA Police Dispatch received calls for a possible road rage incident between the drivers of a black Honda sedan and a blue Chrysler sedan (pictured below) in the northbound lanes of the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel (I-895). A preliminary investigation suggests that a shooting occurred. No injuries were reported to the MDTA Police.

This is an open and ongoing investigation. MDTA Police detectives continue to collect and review various pieces of evidence. Any witnesses or persons who observed the black Honda sedan, the blue Chrysler sedan, or suspicious activity along northbound I-895 are asked to contact the MDTA Police at 443-915-7757.

The Maryland Transportation Authority Police, a nationally accredited force, is the eighth-largest law enforcement agency in the State with more than 500 sworn and civilian law enforcement professionals. MDTA Police Officers provide law enforcement services at the MDTA’s highways, bridges, and tunnels, at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, and at the Port of Baltimore.
