Northbound MD 24 Auxiliary Lane from MD 924 to Singer Road


In December of 2024, the MDTA opened a third lane on northbound MD 24 from MD 924 through the Singer Road intersection in efforts to increase capacity and safety and reduce traffic congestion for motorists traveling from I-95 toward Bel Air. Construction began in spring 2024 and included widening northbound MD 24, modifying the traffic signal at Singer Road, and building noise walls along both directions of MD 24. In addition to scheduled improvements, crews performed emergency repairs to a collapsed storm water pipe located under MD 24.

About Construction

Construction of the northbound roadway began in summer 2024 and was complete in summer 2025.
