Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns
Scheduled for January 2 – 11, 2025
All work will be performed weather permitting. The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals. Headlights are required at all times on the bridge. Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes and other work variables.

The eastbound span may be closed Thursday, January 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Friday, January 3, from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning, Saturday, January 4, from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning, Sunday, January 5, through Thursday, January 9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Friday, January 10, from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning and Saturday, January 11, from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work. The nighttime closures feature deck removal and replacement for the eastbound bridge deck replacement project. Temporary concrete connection slabs are utilized for this crucial work, allowing for travel lanes to reopen each morning and for a smoother driving transition across work areas. Learn more here. Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span during the full eastbound span closures.
One lane of the westbound span may be closed Monday, January 6, through Thursday, January 9, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday, January 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work.
