ONGOING WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT CLOSURES OF ONE NORTHBOUND TUBE OF FORT MCHENRY TUNNEL (I-95) THROUGH THE WEEKEND
During the overnight closures, traffic will be directed through the northbound tube that remains open. Bore 3 (left tube) or Bore 4 (right tube). Traffic volumes are low during the overnight period; however, delays still may occur. Motorists should follow overhead and portable electronic signs.
Closures currently are scheduled for:
- Thursday, Feb. 26, from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. the following morning;
- Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27 and 28, from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning; and
- Sunday, March 1, from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. the following morning.
The bore closures are needed as a safety measure for crews working in confined spaces beneath the tunnel roadway and to allow for the staging of necessary equipment in the bores.
Motorists advised to follow us on twitter.com/TheMDTA for real-time updates on major incidents.
