The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) encourages all motorists to join the nearly 1.4 million drivers who pay the lowest tolls with E-ZPass Maryland. Transponders are free, there’s no monthly fee for Maryland addresses, and sign-up is available 24/7 at ezpassmd.com. Now that standard Video Toll rates have resumed and all-electronic (cashless) tolling is permanent statewide, there’s never been a better time to save with E-ZPass!
Don’t have a bank account? Not a problem! You can still be an E-ZPass Maryland customer and pay the lowest tolls in Maryland. E-ZPass transponders are free and customers can fund their E-ZPass accounts with cash, check or money order by visiting one of our conveniently located E-ZPass Maryland Customer Service Centers (CSCs). Customers also can drop off check or money order payments 24/7 in designated drop boxes outside CSCs at an MDTA toll facility (drop box is not available at the Hatem Bridge/US 40) or mail their check or money order to: MDTA, P.O. Box 17600, Baltimore, MD 21297-7600. Center locations and their updated hours can be found here.
Expanded E-ZPass® Customer Service Center Hours
To enhance customer service capabilities at a time of increased demand, the MDTA has temporarily extended hours at all E-ZPass Maryland CSCs until further notice. CSCs have added Saturday service hours from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and expanded Thursday hours from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. For all other business days, CSC hours remain 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.:

Customers can make an appointment to visit a CSC and speak to a representative by calling 410-537-8400. Center locations and updated hours can be found here. Please note that service centers at Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) branches require an appointment. Walk-in visits are permitted and encouraged at CSCs located at MDTA facilities.
The MDTA also has a staffed toll-free service line, 1-888-321-6824 (711 for MD Relay), operating 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday (interactive phone system operates 24/7). During the COVID-19 pandemic, the MDTA is experiencing high call volumes, so call wait times and availability may vary.
